Credit risk arises from non performance by a borrower. Riskiness of a commercial bank is calculated through long term and short term rating by the credit rating agencies. Researcher provided five years information of EBL from 2005-2009. Compared the credit risk of EBL, NBL &Trust Bank Limited, EBL has the less NPL ratio than the two other commercial banks. Showed the credit rating of EBL and compared with the overall banking industry in Bangladesh.

  • To find the relationship between the capital and risk factors encountered by commercial banks.
  • To get acquainted about regulatory requirements regarding the Tier –I as well as Tier – II capital under BASEL – I requirements.

The objective of this report is to measure the service quality of one of the renowned banks of our country, Eastern Bank Limited (EBL). A questionnaire was developed to assess service quality of EBL. For conducting the survey five branches of EBL were selected and 75 questionnaires were given to 75 customers (15 customers of each branch). If the question comes about the service quality of EBL, then it must be said that the bank emphasizes a lot on service quality.

The researcher found that relatively better performance was shown by BRAC Bank and the City Bank is found on the race but fall short of the former. He also found that CITY Bank is experimenting various SME products to get the competitive edge.

The main focus of the study on BASEL-II, the hard talk in the banking industry has become the recent phenomena to be chalked out by the banking sector of the country. But it must be stated that the Banking industry of the country has just given an endeavor to the process after Bangladesh Bank (BB) has decided to follow it from January, 2009. The Researcher found that all of the 47 banks in our banking industry are now fully implementing the first pillar that is Minimum Capital Requirement (MCR). All the banks already submitted their quarterly Capital Adequacy Statement (CAS) to the Bangladesh Bank, where the implementation of the second pillar, Supervisory Review Process (SRP) on its way by the given guidelines of the BB officials. Lastly, the third pillar, Market Disclosure (MD) is yet to be implemented in our banking arena.

Role of Selected Motivational Factors to Ensure Better Organizational Performance: A Case Study of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd

The main focus of the study was on motivation that is a force  which  drives people to do things. Found that in any organization, good work environment, proper compensation and training are the significant issues for a particular employee as well as organizational performance. In this study, a sample of 50 bank officers of Mutual Trust Bank were taken by adopting non probability convenient sampling, to explore the association between work environment, compensation and training with employee performance. Bank personnel are found not highly enthused in case of training and compensation. But about work environment, their response is worth citing. Results showed there is a highly positive relationship of independent variables (work environment, compensation and training) over dependent variable (employee performance).
